My Story

Hi, I'm Maddy.

I've been obsessed with beautiful fabric for as long as I can remember. As a fashion designer and textiles teacher, I spent years surrounded by colour, texture and craft — and eventually I stopped designing for other people and started making something of my own.

Every single Madbagss bag is made by me, in my Melbourne studio. I source the fabrics, cut every piece, sew every seam, pack every order and post it to your door. There is no factory, no team, no shortcuts. Just me, and a genuine love of making something beautiful.

I'm particular about what goes into my bags. The fabrics I choose are the kind you stop and touch. The leather is supple and ages beautifully. The lining is as lovely as the outside. Every detail is considered — not because I have a checklist, but because I wouldn't make it any other way.

Most of my bags are made in small pre-order runs, though I do keep a limited selection of ready to ship styles available for those who can't wait. Either way, what arrives at your door has been made by hand, with care, by me.

That's what Madbagss has always been about. And it always will be.
